Tasting Notes
The nose reveals aromas of blackberries and cherries with the traditional hints of walnut husk and ivy leaves that are typical of Merlot in Ticino. Aging in oak barrels completes the range of aromas with light hints of cinnamon and cloves. In the mouth it brings together structure and lightness with a fresh and delicate style with soft tannins though good vigor. It is a wine of easy interpretation that reveals itself with generosity in different contexts
Wine and food pairing
It is a multifaceted wine that goes well in all contexts, both with convivial and traditional cuisine and with the more refined. It accompanies charcuterie and cheese dishes for a tasty snack, first courses with meat sauces, traditionally roasted, stewed, braised white and red meats. It is obviously perfectly at home in the convivial context of meat barbecues.
Curiosity
It is the Merlot of Ticino that is inspired by the most classic local tradition. When to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the advent of Merlot in Ticino, the Cantonal School of Agriculture in Mezzana organized a vertical tasting of more than 40 vintages of their Merlot, it became clear what was the taste and style of tradition that we try to bring to this wine.
