Trapletti

In 1967, the family farm was founded with father Lorenzo. From a young age, Enrico Trapletti began to discover his great interest and dedication to vineyards. This led him in 1992 to start his journey in winemaking. Until then a hobby, winemaking became his main life activity and in 2004 he established the Trapletti Wine Estate. Starting from the family vineyard located on the hill of Coldrerio, today the vineyards extend over approximately 13 hectares in the wide Mendrisiotto area. The mild climate, the variety of soils, and the diversity of zones have given rise to a countless number of different grape varieties. There are 16 different grape varieties. Additionally, for 13 years he has reintroduced Nebbiolo to the territory, which already existed on Ticino soil before Merlot. Today he owns about 4,000 plants of this variety and produces 100% Nebbiolo. This grape variety is also used in the blend of Nabumba and for a classic method rosé sparkling wine made from Nebbiolo. The Trapletti Wine Estate currently produces about 45,000 to 55,000 bottles of wine per year.
