Vineyard location
Plot "La Vigne Blanche", area 3.0495 ha. Located mid-hill with East exposure, right in front of Château du Clos de Vougeot. Direct proximity to the prestigious climats of Musigny and Les Amoureuses (Chambolle-Musigny). Very calcareous soil (white earth) with probable silty-clay component, ideal for Chardonnay.
Vinification and aging
Whole cluster pressing in pneumatic press for 2h30. Settling: 12 hours. Fermentation start in stainless steel and completion in barrique. 16 months in barrique + 2 months in stainless steel. 25% new wood.
Food and wine pairing
Ideal with noble crustaceans, fish in sauce, structured white meats and dishes based on mushrooms or preparations with butter and toasted notes. Also excellent with medium-aged soft cheeses.
Tasting notes
On the nose emerge notes of white flowers, ripe citrus and calcareous mineral nuances, enriched by light sensations of hazelnut and fine toasting. On the palate it is broad, tense and structured, with balance between creaminess and freshness. Long, mineral and persistent finish.
Aging potential
10–15 years or more, depending on storage conditions.
