Denomination
Riserva Ticino DOC
Grape variety
100% Merlot
Vinification and aging
The vinification is of the Bordeaux type with a maceration of about 20 days in steel vats at a controlled temperature of 27-30 degrees. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is placed in new French oak barrels of 225 liters. The aging varies depending on the vintage from 15 to 18 months.
Soil
This aging wine is produced with grapes from two hillside plots located in Gudo, a district of Bellinzona, on the right bank of the Ticino river. These, perfectly south-facing, have a specific exposure and microclimate, optimal for producing great wines. Furthermore, the vineyard located in the Costa Piatta area benefits from light breezes from the Gudo valleys that allow the vineyard to withstand various annual climatic conditions well.
