The vineyard planted with Merlot in 1986 located at the foot of Monte Sighignola and facing the Gulf of Lugano has moderately gravelly soils and is west-facing.
Tasting notes
The Merlot di Pugerna has the characteristics of the traditional Merlot from Ticino with elegant aromas of red berries and walnut husk and a soft and delicate structure. Its elegance derives from the skill of Gianfranco Chiesa who is distinguished by precise vinifications always aimed at finesse.

Pairs well with home-style and traditional convivial cuisine: dishes of cold cuts and cheeses, pasta with meat sauces, risottos, roasted rabbit, chicken, and roasted meats in general.
