A dry still white with light residual sugar, it comes from Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, which has been grown for centuries in the hills of Piacenza to give a still, light wine. Sorriso di Cielo was born in 1991 from the desire to produce from this grape variety a still wine that was not only aromatic and pleasant, but also structured, complex and long-lived, something never undertaken by anyone before. The years since '91 have confirmed the potential of this grape, truly one of the best native white grapes in the country and the true Italian alternative to Gewurtztraminer.
Food and wine pairing
It goes well with foie gras, shellfish, pumpkin dishes, and medium-aged cheeses; excellent at the wine bar and with many richly flavored and sweet-and-sour-tasting dishes.
