Nebbiolo - Italian Switzerland, 2020, 75cl, Igt

Nebbiolo is the grape variety that was present in Ticino before the advent of Merlot in the early 1900s. As in the entire pre-Alpine area from Valle d'Aosta to Valtellina, it had found the best conditions to express itself in Ticino before suffering the attack of phylloxera that actually opened the door to the advent of merlot. Enrico Trapletti wanted to replant it in order to go back in time and give back to wine-producing Ticino a piece of its history.

Food and wine pairing

This is a wine with great structure and noble tannins that accompanies red meats with long cooking such as roasts, stews and braises. Excellent with aged alpine cheeses.
