Paolo De Marchi began experimenting with international grape varieties, at Isole e Olena, in the 1980s, when Tuscany was experiencing its greatest and most historic qualitative breakthrough. Inspired by the great whites of Bourgogne, Paolo identified a plot at his tenuta that lent itself particularly well, in terms of soil, topography and microclimate, to accommodate Chardonnay. Today the Chardonnay Collezione Privata of Isole e Olena is one of the most striking expressions of this great grape variety in Italy and has become a very rare wine.

It expresses itself with great depth, structure, and an elegant and refined style, with an over-the-top class.

Food and wine pairings

It is an important wine to reserve for important moments and accompanies very fine seafood cuisine, either with Mediterranean-style sauces made with EVO oil, or with the classic cream and butter sauces of traditional French cuisine.

Service and aging

Ready to drink, it is at its best within 5 years after harvest.

Serve it not too cold so as not to inhibit its potential: 10-12 °C.
