Pugerna takes its name from the small village of the same name located on the shores of the Ceresio, facing the Gulf of Lugano. The vineyard planted to Merlot in 1986 and located at the foot of Monte Sighignola has medium gravelly soils and is west-facing.
Pugerna Merlot has the characteristics of traditional Ticino Merlot with elegant aromas of red berries and walnut husk and a soft, delicate structure. Its elegance derives from the craftsmanship of Gianfranco Chiesa , which is distinguished by its precise winemaking always oriented toward finesse.

It goes well with home cooking and traditional conviviality: charcuterie and cheese dishes, pastas with meat sauces, risottos, roasted rabbit, chicken, and roasted meats in general.
