Luciano Sandrone's Nebbiolo d'Alba "Valmaggiore" is a wine that benefits from all the attention normally paid to a Barolo. Coming from the Valmaggiore vineyard, one of the most striking in the Roero, it is a wine aged for 12 months in fine large oak barrels.
The aromatic array is rich and complex, with hints of flowers, berries, spices and licorice. Elegant, intense and flavorful, it reveals the typical character of Nebbiolo with a more subtle interpretation, made noble by the uniqueness of the tannins of this grape variety.
Food and wine pairing
It is a wine that is appreciated from three to seven years after harvest accompanying red meats with long cooking and aged cheeses. Irreplaceable with pastas with rabbit or other meat ragout and as a prelude to the more important Barolo.
